About Radiant Heat Installation
With over 35 years of hands-on experience designing and installing hydronic radiant heating systems throughout the Puget Sound region, Janes Radiant Heating brings unmatched expertise and dedication to every project. Whether you’re a homeowner, builder, or DIY enthusiast, we’re here to help you create a comfortable, energy-efficient environment for your home or business.
Radiant heating systems are among the most efficient and luxurious heating options available today. At Janes Radiant Heating, we’ve worked with clients from Everett to Bellevue and beyond, refining our process to ensure long-lasting performance. Whether we’re embedding tubing into concrete or retrofitting an existing structure, we guarantee a radiant heating installation that performs for decades.
There are two primary methods of installation: in-floor and under-joist systems. Choosing the right approach depends on your floorplan, construction type, and energy goals. Our experts are here to guide you through the best solution for your project.
In-floor installation is ideal for new builds, additions, or major renovations where the subfloor is exposed. This method allows for optimal heat distribution and efficiency. Tubing is securely stapled to the subfloor and encased in Gyp-Crete or a concrete slab, providing a seamless and even heat source under your finished flooring.
Because heat radiates upwards, this method ensures warm feet and efficient energy use throughout the day. In-floor radiant heating works exceptionally well under tile, hardwood, laminate, and engineered flooring. It’s also virtually silent and dust-free—making it an excellent option for families with allergies or asthma.
This method is used primarily in retrofit situations where tearing up the finished floor isn’t an option. Tubing is installed beneath the subfloor between the joists, with reflective insulation added to direct heat upward. While slightly less efficient than in-floor systems, under-joist installations are still highly effective and often more practical for existing homes.
We use high-quality oxygen-barrier PEX tubing and ensure tight spacing for consistent warmth. Every system is custom-designed to match your home’s layout, ensuring no cold spots or wasted energy.
For homeowners or contractors who prefer a hands-on approach, we offer complete DIY kits with detailed instructions, layout drawings, and technical support. These kits are ideal for small additions, cabins, or even full remodels.
We’ve helped hundreds of DIYers achieve professional-grade results without breaking the bank. Visit JanesRadiant.com for more information on kits, tools, and installation guidance.
